The Rector reminded that the state needs knowledge and need to invest in the people in order to put the millions for cultural heritage into use. The Mayor of Sofia Yordanka Fandakova summarised the efforts of the municipality in this area and thanked the archeologists for the cooperation. She announced that, for the first time, the municipality invests BGN 1 million in project for restoration, conservation and promotion of the cultural heritage of the capital. The official opening was attended by the Minister of Education, Youth and Science, Sergey Ignatov, and the Deputy Minister of Culture, Todor Chobanov. Minister Ignatov sharred the pride and hope the government bears towards archeology, which is one of the priorities in funding scientific projects.
